There are many special places around Vadstena Klosterhotell. Weddings can take place in the abbey church, the nuns' chapter house, Örtagården, on the banks of Lake Vättern or Vadstena Castle. If you want to get married in a rural setting instead, Vadstena has six medieval churches in the immediate vicinity of the town, out on the wide landscape of the Östgötaslätten.

Your wedding can be held in the outstanding, magnificent and world-famous Abbey Church, which was consecrated in 1430, or in the nunnery's incredibly beautiful chapter house, where all the murals have been carefully restored.
Vadstena Castle is one of the best-preserved Renaissance castles in the Nordic region and is a fabulous place for a castle wedding. The first person to get married here was Gustav Vasa, who in 1552 married Katarina Stenbock, 40 years his junior. There is an impressive castle church on the third floor where you can get married both religiously and civilly. The venue has incredible acoustics and was John III's masterpiece, completed in the late 1500s.
All of these medieval rooms have grand arches and will give your wedding a fantastic feel.
