The monastery café opens for the season

A warm welcome to our 'new' Klostercafé located right on the shore of Lake Vättern. During the spring, our painter Pelle has filled, painted and wallpapered indoors - it has become so nice! Here you can enjoy our popular shrimp sandwich / homemade / coffee and much more ... while dipping your toes in the water. There is both outdoor and indoor seating.

The building was built in the 18th century as a priest's residence for the Vadstena warrior house.

There is the possibility of swimming in Vättern, sandy bottom and shallow. The lush park in front of the hotel provides both sun and shade for those who want a relaxed stay.

The café offers coffee, tea, delicious sandwiches, pastries, ice cream and more. We also serve wine, beer and non-alcoholic options. When it rains, you can sit inside and enjoy the cozy environment with checkered floors, beautiful wallpaper and Vadstena's best view.  

We open our café on 16/6 and stay open all summer.
